A fall of a great tree with green leaves and sweet fruits – Cief (DR) G F J Campion, the Aloriawo of Egbe land has gone to the glory
Dr. George Campion entered the gates of Heaven on December 30, 2021 at 97 years of age, no doubt to a resounding “Well done, good and faithful Servant.” He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Esther Helser Campion, and their four children Marjorie (Campion) Ketola, Don (Sueanne) Campion, Barb (Campion) Lichty, and Betsie (Dave) Campion Smith, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
Dr. Campion lived a life of service and dedication to God. As the founder of Egbe Hospital in Egbe, Nigeria, he served alongside many missionaries and nationals for 33 years as surgeon and medical director. In 1986, Dr. Campion and his wife returned to Canada where he worked at General Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital until he retired at age 88.
A longtime member of Calvary Church, St. Catharines, Dr. Campion continued his focus on missions, supporting many missionaries and nationals, praying for them daily.
