The Federal Capital Territory Oba’s council which is a council of traditional rulers of Southwest extractions living in Abuja have endorsed the presidential bid of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as their preferred Presidential candidate for the next Presidential election coming up l this weekend.
They made their position known at the submit for the Oba’s on the 2023 general election organised by the PCC committee on traditional institution of the Tinubu/Shettima presidential council in Abuja on Sunday .
This was disclose by convener of the summit, Mrs Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi of the Tinubu/Shettima PCC in Abuja.
Princess Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi who herself was a former senatorial aspirant of the APC in the FCT.
According to her the Oba’s made this pledge because they said it was important for the traditional chiefs to aid the victory of the APC Presidential candidate for complete victory because he has shown enough evidence in the past that he is a respected of the traditional institutions in the country by urging their subjects resident through out the territory to vote enmass for the Asiwaju to ensure total victory for the party.
They urge the committee head to convey their message of support to the candidate and urge him not to rest till he speeds up the provision of basic amenities needed in the communities through out the country that have witnessed neglect by past leaders of the country in general.
They say this include welfare of the Obas, Infrastructural developments, salaries for supportive traditional leaders like the Baales, elevation of their status on the throne.
The director of the PCC committee on traditional institution assured them that her principal is a man that at all times venerates the traditional institutions and would cater for their interest when elected into office as President of the country.
She also urge them to educate their subjects on the importance of the next election and make sure they come out enmass to support one of their very own as they have pledged.
