The Government House Quarters of Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu, the Director General, Government House Administration was this afternoon astir with flowing tears of joy, endless laughter and appreciation displayed in different gymnastic forms as he gifted six cars to some of those who have worked under him for more than five years running.
According to Balogun Omeiza David (BOD), Media Aide to the DG Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu while speaking during the presentation of papers and keys to the drivers said, “I give all the glory to God Almighty for bringing you people my way for us to work together. I am more grateful to God for securing us all as we embarked on many journeys without any known accident. This can only be God therefore, I will be an ingrate if I do not hallow His holy name for releasing His angels to keep us to and fro each journey for the past five years and counting.”
In addition, the Director General Government House Administration said, “After thanking God Almighty for His manifold blessings, the next person that deserves my genuine appreciation is His Excellency, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON) for seeing me worthy to work with him. I never expected that I will be this favoured by him when he came on board as Governor. Whatever I do is therefore not by my own power but that of God and the Governor.”
Speaking further, Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha added that, “I see it as an act of Godliness for a master to reward a servant(s) of his who has diligently served him well. I have come to understand that life is all about give and take and that will remain the only oil that can lubricate every friction in our lives. If I hoard the little I have without releasing it out to the betterment of humanity no doubt, my eternity also will be tampered with and that is what I do not want.
“These drivers and one security man I am rewarding today have served me well and I do not see any reason why I should let them go empty handed. I am therefore presenting these Volkswagen Sharon vehicles to each of them because of its economic value. I am cock sure this will help them start life on their own as this administration is about winding up.”
The beneficiaries with eyes beaming with excitement took their turns to show their own style of appreciating their boss now known by many who knows his worth and value as “Oda-yoza-ri.” The drivers are: Onimisi Isah, Idoko Ibrahim, Uhiene Abu, Abdulsalam Yusuf and Mike Agoyi. One of his security men named Abdulrahman Shununu (who was today transferred to Kano State after serving for 6 years) was also a beneficiary of one of the cars that was gifted out by Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu.
All those who gathered at the Quarters of the Director General Government House Administration chanted his name as die hard football fans chant would the names of their favourites players. There was much singing, dancing and prayers enough to draw the attention of God Almighty to reward Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu who has also rewarded those who have worked with him.
