
A former member of the House of Representatives for Okehi/Adavi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulrahman Badamasuiy, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Badamasuiy, who represented the constituency in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, emerged through a consensus arrangement during the PDP House of Representatives primary election held on Sunday.
Also emerging through the party’s consensus process was Mohammed A. Etudaiye, a new entrant, who secured the PDP ticket for the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, while Lawal Idrisu, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives, emerged as the party’s candidate for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency.
In Kogi West, Abdulkadir Ibrahim clinched the PDP ticket for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Femi Victor Olubiyi emerged for Kabba/Bunu Federal Constituency, while Hon. Ibigbemi Seun Samuel was returned unopposed for Yagba Federal Constituency.
Similarly, in Kogi East, Barr. Abubakar Usman Yahaya emerged as the PDP candidate for Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency, while Hon. Okolo Ikani Benjamin, a former member of the House of Representatives and former Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, secured the ticket for Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency through affirmation.
A former Chairman of Idah Local Government Area, Hon. Ukwenya Paul Ogwu, was also returned unopposed as the PDP candidate for Idah Federal Constituency.
Speaking shortly after his affirmation by party members in Ogaminana, Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Badamasuiy commended party delegates and supporters for their peaceful conduct during the exercise.
He assured constituents that he would rely on his legislative experience to provide quality representation and attract developmental projects to the constituency.
“I have represented the people before, and they can compare the level of development during our time with what is obtainable now.
Development stopped after we left office, but I want to assure the people that I will use my experience to bring development back to the area,” he said.
