APC rally: Gov. Bello reassures Kogites of more developmental strides

The governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reassured the people of the state of his commitment to bring about more developmental strides in his second term across the state.
Bello gave the assurance on Tuesday in Kabb at the APC campaign rally for the Nov. 16 gubernatorial and senatorial rerun election in the state.
The governor, accompanied by his running mate Mr Edward Onoja and other state government officials, were received by a mammoth crowd of supporters from Kogi west.
Bello thanked the people for their support over the last three and half years of his administration noting that they had proven to be people of honesty and sincerity.
He noted that his administration had made several achievements in the region and the entire state particularly in infrastructure, security, agricultural development, youth empowerment and the creation of employment opportunities.
According to him, the region has benefitted most from the New Direction Government such as the over N4 billion Ejiba Rice Milling factory with the capacity to employ about 5000 youths.
He assured the people that his second term in office would further facilitate greater projects of immense benefits with a focus on human capital development.
Earlier, the governor paid homage to the Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Solomon Owoniyi, in his palace where he canvassed support for the election of Sen. Smart Adeyemi, for the senatorial rerun election also on Nov. 16.
The governor noted that it was his custom to always seek royal blessings from traditional rulers any area he visited knowing that such prayers were very effective.
The governor urged the monarch and his people to look beyond local politics and participate more actively in national politics, saying it would be more beneficial to them.
He noted that Adeyemi was qualified to offer such quality and a good representation of the people while promising to build a befitting palace for the monarch.
In his response, the Monarch expressed his excitement for the visit and the APC campaign rally in Kabba, while reassuring the governor of their total support.
He commended the governor for recently graded traditional stool in the region and expressed gratitude to him for his numerous strides.
The traditional ruler affirmed that the people of Kabba had a pact with the governor’s reelection and assured him of their full support for greater achievements in his second term.
He assured that the election would be conducted peacefully and no politician would turn Okun land into a theatre of war.
The governor thereafter proceeded to flag off a 10km Kabba-Ottu-Okedayo and 40km Kabba – Oke Ofun – Ayede – Iluke roads, saying it would benefit over 14 rural communities assuring the people that the project work would commence immediately.
