The Joint Security Task Force in Yagba West Local Government Area has apprehended another suspected who is the current Chairman of the Okada Riders Association (Ejiba Branch) Femi Owoloja for supplying logistics involved in the distribution of hard drugs to bandits operating in Kogi state.

It was reliably gathered that suspect name Femi Owoloja was allegedly transporting suspected illicit substances intended for bandits when he was intercepted by JTF operatives.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that his accomplices, who had already loaded two cartons of drugs onto a motorcycle, fled the scene upon noticing the approaching security team. Femi, however, was not lucky as he was captured attempting to escape.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Femi, who is the current Chairman of the Okada Riders Association (Ejiba Branch), confessed to procuring the drugs from a chemist shop in Egbe.

with the intention to deliver the substances to his accomplices hiding in the nearby forest.

In addition to the drugs, authorities discovered ₦600,000 in cash on Femi, believed to be either proceeds from the drug trade or operational funds for the illegal transaction.

The JTF has continued to intensify its efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the area, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.

The arrest of Femi marks a critical step in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and its associated criminal activities in Yagba West.

Further investigations are underway as authorities work to apprehend Femi’s accomplices and dismantle the network involved in the distribution of hard drugs in the region.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area and Chairman of Kogi State ALGON, Hon. Tosin Olokun, has commended the operatives for their swift response and renewed efforts in dismantling criminal logistics networks across the zone.

The Chairman in statement issued through his press secretary Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to ensuring the safety and peace of all communities and warned individuals against aiding, harboring, or transacting with criminal groups.

The chairman assured that all suspects found culpable will be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution in accordance with the law.

He added that the suspect is currently in custody as further investigations continue to uncover links, sponsors, and other collaborators in the supply chain aiding banditry and criminal activities in Yagba West.
