The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, received multiple high-profile delegations today Thursday 6th Februar, 2025, reaffirming his commitment to collaborative Policing and Community Engagement in Kogi State.

The day began with a visit from religious leaders of ECWA, Lokoja DCC, led by the DCC Chairman Rev. Dr. Frank Paul along with other senior clergy members. As strong believers, they prayed fervently for the success of CP Dantawaye and his team. They also pledged their support by providing valuable information to aid security efforts in the state. Recalling his exceptional service in Benin City, Edo State, they encouraged him to replicate the same dedication in Kogi.

In another development, a delegation from Globacom (Glo) Regional Office, Lokoja, led by the Regional Manager, Mr Mohammed and other senior executives, paid a courtesy visit. Recognizing the importance of strong telecommunications support in security operations. Glo pledged to provide network services and adequate access, strengthening communication within the force.

Another significant delegation was from POCACOV – the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, Kogi State Chapter led by the State Coordinator Mr Austin Tantoluwa. The group, which focuses on eradicating cultism and drug abuse, presented CP Dantawaye with a roll-up banner carrying a bold message:
“To all criminals in Kogi State, repent or relocate – there’s a new sheriff in town.”
This symbolic gesture underscored the CP’s commitment to a crime-free Kogi State.

In addition, the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), led by Dr. Mrs. Dantawaye, also visited Command Headquarters. The Chairperson appealed to the CP for greater involvement of senior Officers’ Wives in POWA’s mobilization efforts, while pledging their support in ensuring a smooth tenure for the CP and crime-free Kogi State.In his response, CP Dantawaye assured them of his commitment to empowering women, urging them to be determined and courageous in their pursuits. He emphasized the importance of economic empowerment and skill acquisition programs to improve their welfare and that of their families.

Later in the day, CP Dantawaye paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, alongside senior judicial officers. Justice Majebi described the Commissioner as a “peculiar and special leader”, noting that the overwhelming presence of dignitaries at the meeting was a testament to his character.

Justice Majebi emphasized the need for Police Officers to undergo Legal Training to ensure due process in handling criminal cases. He advised the CP to work closely with State Government to ensure a safe and secure environment for better Kogi State.

In response, CP Dantawaye expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the judiciary that he would establish a Legal training platform for Officers to enhance their knowledge of the Law. He reiterated his commitment to justice, security, and cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure peace in Kogi State.

With these strong alliances in place, the new Commissioner of Police is poised to lead a transformative security agenda for Kogi State.
