Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo has donated the sum of over N26 million naira to National Youth Service Corps Members deployed to the state.

The 1,326 Corps members are to received N20,000 naira each to ease their welfare.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo donated the money on Tuesday in a message during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream One Orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Asaya, Kogi State.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo said the gesture was to motivate the Corps members deployed to the State to impact positively in their primary place of assignment.

He said as a Government, committed Corps members deployed to the State will be honour and rewarded after thier service year.

The Governor implored Corps members deployed to the State to be diligent, selfless and hardworking to enable them make the needed impact at the end of their service year.

Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo urged all employers of Labour to accept Corps members posted to their organisations for their service year.

The Governor assured the Corps members deployed to Kogi State of government commitment to their safety and welfare packages during and after their service year in the state.

While declaring the Twenty Twenty Four Batch B Stream One orientation course camp closed, restated his commitment to improve on the camp facilities at the orientation camp Asaya

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Monday A Anyebe advised the Corps members to avoid acts and places that can endanger their lives during and after their service year in the state.

The Commissioner who is also the Chairman Governing Board of the NYSC in the state urged them to be security conscious and be vigilant at all times, stressing that they should also avoid moving around during odd hours in places of primary assignment.

He equally appealed to Corps employers to l accept Corps members posted to them and make the necessary provisions for their welfare.

Speaking, the state Coordinator of the National Youth service Corps Mr. Femi Osungbobun advised the Corps members to make use of the knowledge acquired from the camp to impact on thier various places of primary assignment.

Mr. Osungbobun thanked the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his love and efforts to the welfare of Corps members deployed to the State and assured him of their loyalty and support to the present administration.

Speaking on behalf of the Corps members, Miss Tosin Toluwaloye expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his fatherly roles especially the welfare package given to them and prayed for God blessing and good health for him and his family.
