Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is young, pragmatic and fit for the Presidential seat come 2023, so says the Personal Assistant to Kogi Education Commissioner, Comrade Rufus Obafemi.
The Personal Assistant in a statement made available to Newsmen in Lokoja the State Capital, urged Nigerians to leave out unhealthy sentiments in their criticism of Governor Yahaya Bello, stating that the young Governor is capable of leading the country.
Citing examples of Educational and infrastructural development, coupled with his all inclusiveness policy and zero tolerance of crime, Obafemi argued that the governor’s feat was completely unmatchable.
“We should decide to put individual sentiments aside and look at the achievements of GYB. He can do the job. I don’t think many Governors come close,” he chipped.
Obafemi stated that working with the honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology had made him realize how much the Governor had done for the state, as he revealed that the transformation of the ministry of Education and the many educational projects embarked upon by the GYB administration were testaments to the fact.
“The establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Enactment of Education Law, is a testament to the his dedication to building human capacity and the new University, presently. Kogi State Polytechnic is leading as one of the best polytechnic in Nigeria
the upgrade of college of Agriculture Ochaja will ensure economic growth and provide employment for Youths in the state.
Speaking further, he mentioned that the rating of Kogi state as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria at the moment is down to the security management acumen of Governor Bello, saying that a leader like him is needed to stand up for Nigeria.
While applauding the Governor for his all inclusiveness policy of governance, Obafemi noted that he has restored confidence to the female gender and the teeming youths of Kogi state in their quest for political participation.
“The country has clamoured for a youth president and if given the chance, we have one in GYB, he knows all about gender balancing and youth inclusiveness in politics. I really feel he can stabilize the politics of the country to a large extent.
“Take a look at the EBIGO agenda of his Excellency Governor Bello; it has ensured the unity and equity in handling affairs relating to the different tribes in Kogi state.
“So far, this agenda has solidly united Kogites and I strongly believe he can replicate this at the national level and Nigeria will be better for it,” he said.
While canvassing for the peace and unity of the country, Comrade Obafemi made bold to say that Governor Bello has what it takes to unify Nigeria.
