The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has called on electorates to Vote for candidates that has plans to improve the health system across the country.
The Association also called on politicians to desist from any act or incitive statements that could lead to violence and body harm on Nigerian populace during and after the polls.
The chairman Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) ad-hoc Committee on Radiation and Radiodiagnosis Dr Ododo Bernard disclosed this in Lokoja during a press briefing on Thursday.
Dr Ododo while lamenting on the current trend of politicking across the nation in run up to Saturday elections, noted that if not checked, the incitive campaigns can lead to breakdown of law and order thereby resulting in injuries which the already overstretched health system across the states of the nation may not be able to cope with.
He urge the candidates to appeal to their supporters to put up good conduct before, during and after the elections.
Speaking further, Dr Ododo tasked Nigerian voters to critically evaluate the manifestoes and working plan of the candidates especially those for governorship position in their state, to see what they have as promise and how they intend to develop the health system in their state.
