Kogiflame
Recently, some small-time political “salesmen” have been spreading baseless rumors that His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, has prematurely “anointed” a candidate months—if not years—ahead of the primaries. They claim the governor favors one contestant over another to mislead and confuse the people.
Let’s be clear: our governor, known for his fairness and deep understanding of political processes, would never announce or endorse a candidate two years before the primaries. This so-called “early endorsement” is pure fake news, fabricated by local leaders pursuing selfish interests under the guise of loyalty.
These opportunists use the governor’s name like worn-out slogans, hoping to bewilder genuine supporters and create division within the party. Such actions only serve to demoralize the grassroots and weaken our collective strength.
Moreover, the governor must be cautious of these few leaders who, under his name, are stirring discord and disunity among the people and within the party. Using his good name for personal gain not only damages the governor’s reputation but also threatens party unity at the crucial grassroots level.
To our supporters and all well-meaning members of the constituency:
1. Disregard these falsehoods; the governor’s true endorsement will come at the proper time and in the proper way.
2. Stand firm behind your candidate—the one with the genuine support, proven track record, and heart for the people.
3. Do not be manipulated or turned into political sheep for the selfish ambitions of a few.
Remember, the only thing those small leaders have “anointed” successfully is their own confusion and distrust. Let us keep our eyes wide open, hearts united, and support unwavering.
“Remember, genuine leadership isn’t about early anointing—it’s about earning your respect every step of the way. Let’s choose wisdom over whispers!”
