This public notice is here by issued to alert the unsuspecting public particularly Kogi State and in general outside the State to the antics and machinations of an imposter parading himself as a traditional ruler in Lokoja, the state capital.
This is to bring to public awareness, the activities of an imposter parading himself as the Etsu Lokoja, Emmanuel Akamisoko Dauda Shelika.
The public notice is to the effect that the imposter is not known to Lokoja traditional council, Lokoja Local government and the Kogi State Government who have the sole power to appoint and recognize all traditional rulers in the state.
To that effect, he is an imposter and a felon who has been evading arrest for sometimes now when he was declared wanted by the constituted authorities.
We are also using this opportunity to warn the general public that he has no customary or legal authority whatsoever to present himself or act as the prescribe traditional authority for the people of Lokoja and it’s environs.
We are also urging the media, particularly, The Punch newspaper not to be hoodwink or deceived into believing that the imposter is the known and appointed traditional ruler of Lokoja town and it’s immediate environs. In fact the said Emmanuel Shelika Dauda is not from Lokoja LGA.
While we are happy to note that the Kogi State Government is taking the proper steps to bring the imposter to justice, we are also using this opportunity to appeal to law enforcement agents to help in apprehending him and bring him to justice.
Also this would save the traditional authority and the people of Lokoja and it’s environs from embarrassments caused them by the antics of this imposter.
So, therefore we warn the general public not to transact any business or engage in any financial and material dealings with him whatsoever.
