The coast is now clear for top contenders from the North to aspire with the completion of the mandate of the National Zoning Committee of our party, Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), led by Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
We, the Coalition of North Central PDP Youths, (CNCY), a pressure group within PDP formally declare our unflinching support for the Kogi-born Senator, Dino Melaye, for the top position of PDP National Chairman ahead of the National Convention of the party, slated to hold from 30th – 31st October 2021.
As a group that cut across North Central Zone and as loyal party members, we believe that our party deserves the best at this crucial time. We also believe that our party needs a candidate with required political wherewithal, competency, exposure, experience, maturity, agility and intellectual capability to frontally confront the challenges ahead in the quest to pilot the affairs of our party to a satisfactory and successful point.
Secondly, PDP needs a man with unblemished and impeccable records, who has not been invited or indicted by any anti-graft agency. Our party needs a personality with clear vision and mission premised on a vast political and administrative experience, politician who deeply understands the complex dynamics of Nigerian politics. An experienced and problem solver that will embrace all shades of opinions and suggestions that will further entrench our party ideologies and ideas.
It is axiomatic that the incoming leadership has a daunting task to lead our great party to victory come 2023. We therefore need a national chairman who can function strategically with minimal resources and can invest in relationship and mobilization across the nation. The party needs a national chairman that has strong values to guide decisions. Our great party deserves at this point, a man with robust contact across the length and breadth of Nigeria as its national chairman.
And base on our thorough assessment and consultations so far, we unequivocally and categorically state that, Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye possesses the above qualities and fits in for this party’s national chairmanship position at this crucial time.
Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye as we know is a fearless party member who has the capabilities and capacity to steer the ship of our great party without doubt and also has all the leadership qualities the party needs.
He is endowed with sterling qualities and vast wealth of experiences that will reposition our great party. He has demonstrated the will to function as an opposition party leader. He is also matured, sound, agile, young and intelligent enough to lead the party to an enviable height.
Furthermore, Senator Dino Melaye represents the bridge between the young and the old. In fact, this is the very first time we are having his personality type who bridge the gap between the young and the old and still demonstrate integrity any time any day.
In the light of the above have we resolved and now call on our party leaders and members across the country, to embrace a “generational change” by allowing a young and very competent hand for the national chairmanship position. We implore our party as a matter of necessity to shift from old order and embrace generational change.
Coalition of North Central PDP Youths strongly believe that our party needs a better national cohesion and healthy unity in other to provide a very vibrant and potent opposition that is prepared to rescue our dear country from the misrule of APC come 2023.
We therefore appeal to our party leaders and members to see beyond primordial approach and consider the very essence of having a competent hand and visionary personality that will lead us, redirect and reorganize our party effectively in line with our party constitution and manifestos.
As we are aware, majority of Nigerians are waiting for our great party, which of course, remain the only strong rescue political platform to dislodge the toxic APC come 2023.
Finally, we reiterate our continued and unfeigned commitment and loyalty to PDP, as we declare our total support for a detribalized Nigerian, in the person of Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, whom we found politically fit with the needed aura and charisma of good leadership management, laced with multiple skills to administer our party productively and democratically where all party members across the country will be worthy stakeholders in the affairs of the party.
