The appeal panel set up by the People’s Democratic Party to address issues from the screening of aspirants for various positions in the Saturday’s primary election in Kogi State, has cleared former Senator, Ahmed Ogembe to contest.
Ogembe who is seeking to return to the Senate after a failed bid in 2019, was disqualified last week by the Jaro Egbo led screening committee.
ebirareporters.com gathered that the lawmaker was cleared earlier on Tuesday.
He had said in a chat with our correspondent, that he would follow the legal process to seek redress, hopeful that the appeal will go in his favour.
According to him, the reason for his disqualification was out of the party’s guidelines for disqualification of aspirants.
“The screening guideline is clear. If they disqualified me outside that guideline, if I go to court, I will nullify the entire process. The whole process is not finished, the appeal panel is there, so we will go through the whole process,” he said.
