A socio-cultural group under the aegis of Ona-Ara movement has organised free medical outreach to over 1000 people and equally distributed palliatives to widows, and youths in Ekirin-Ade, Ijumu local government area of Kogi state.

A science laboratory and a borehole were also commissioned by the group.

According to the founder of the group and Estate Surveyor, Olugbenga Rotimi who disclosed this during the annual Ona-Ara day in Ekirin-Ade, said this was in honour of late Mrs Ademola Rotimi who is one of the founding member of Ona-Ara movement in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

He said he remains committed in empowering the less privilege to have sense of belonging in the society, stressing that empowerment of Youths and the needy will go a long way in addressing the challenges of insecurity bedeviling the Country.

He noted that statistics over the years had showed that the issue of insecurity had triggered due to some challenges confronting the nation ranging from growing unemployment, alleged marginalization, social vices and man more.

In his effort to address this burning issues, the founder of Ona-Ara movement Estate Surveyor Olugbenga Rotimi noted that he believed that giving back to the society will go a long way in bringing smiles to the faces of the people who are still battling with Nigeria’s economic problem.

For him, the economic policy of President Bola Tinubu should be given all the needed support if Nigeria will be among comity of nations that will be developed in the world.

The leader of the medical teams, Pharmacist Ologuntoye Joseph revealed that many beneficiaries were still being attended to by Sunday evening,adding that provisions had been made for 1000 beneficiaries.

He also confirmed that a beneficiary was recommended for surgery and would be taken care of at a Government hospital.

The People of Ekirin-Ade expressed their delight to this laudable gesture with a view that this will go a long way to reduce the poverty rate in Ijumu Local Government.

The traditional ruler of Ekinrin Ade,
Olu Ade of Ekinrin Ade, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu Ahe Maworo 1 in his remarks, lauded Rotimi and the socio cultural group for their efforts in contributing to the development of the community.

He said ” I enjoin you all to keep on supporting the sociocultural group and its founder , Rotimi with prayers for their untiring efforts in seeing to the development of our community.”

The medical outreach and palliatives distribution was held on Sunday at the Baptist College ground Ekirin-Ade.
