Alhaji Dr Rabiu Onaolapo Olowo is the current Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State,after many years exploits in the private sector.
His private sector driven experience metamorphosed into the establishment of a world recognised financial regulatory Institution, after many years of sojourn in private conglomerates, that cut across financial institutions,pharmateuticals and manufacturing.
Dr Rabiu Olowo untill his appointment as Finance Commissioner for Lagos State in 2019, was the sole founder Rablowoods counter fraud learning centre and Rablowoods Professional services limited, that deals with trainings and retrainings of professionals in various accounting fields.
He is also an expert in fraud control,detection, prevention and deterrence with stakes in some African countries, outside the shores of Nigeria.
His establishment has trained many professionals both from the public and organised private sector as centre of excellence, anti-fraud and consulting WA.
A well lettered personalty,who became a PhD holder in his early 30’s among many other professional qualifications,his strides in the last two years at the helms of affairs of Lagos State finances had contributed in no small measures from jerking up the IGR from 30s to 40s amidst COVID-19, world economic recession and Endsars protests that ravaged Lagos State, Nigeria and the world at large.
Very young,agile and hard-working,Dr Olowo brought to bare alot of innovations into the finances of Lagos State that helped the current administration under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu into meeting many promises of his electioneering campaigns in the area of infrastructure,economic,social and physical developement of Lagos State.
No doubt, the positive impact on the handling of Lagos finances among many others, resulted in the generation of 127 Billion as IGR in the first quarter of the year, 2021,a departure of what was obtainable in the previous adminstration.
His prudent management of Lagos resources,fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability in the public service had contributed in no small measure to the economic growth of the cosmopolitan Lagos State.
This positive developement has been the trend of operations and accelerated economic emancipation of Lagos State in the last two years.
As you mark another year in the services of your fatherland,we prayed that Almighty God will continue to guide you in the onerous assignments of piloting the affairs of Lagos State.
