The remains of Olori Marie Ige Owoniyi, the wife of the Obaro of Kabba, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi will be laid to rest at a private internment on the palace grounds in Kabba on Friday, May 2, 2025.

A Palace statement in Kabba said the internment will immediately follow a funeral service to be held in her honour at the Cathedral of St Andrew’s, Anglican Communion, Odolu, Kabba at 10 am on the same day.

According to the statement, the funeral service will be preceded by a Christian wake at the palace which would commence at 5 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Preceding that, a service of songs to kickstart the funeral programme will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Restoration Court, 46, Adetoro Adelaja Street, Magodo, Phase 2, Lagos at 4 PM.

Following that, the body of the deceased will depart the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for Kabba on April 28, 2025.

A reception to round off the funeral activities will be held at the 95 Degrees Event Centre, Kabba-Okene Road, Kabba immediately after the internment.

The statement expressed appreciation to the people of Kabba, the Kogi State Government and sympathisers nationwide for the outpouring of emotions which greeted the death of Olori Marie.
