A prominent stakeholder in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State, High Chief Meka Adesina-Soje, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his intervention in the recent issues surrounding the representation of Ogori-Magongo in the Kogi State House of Assembly, describing the development as a victory for justice, fairness, and responsible leadership.

Recalled that a member representing Ogori-Magongo in the state assembly, Hon. (Prince) Bode Ogunmola has formally withdrawn as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ogori/Magongo State Constituency seat in the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly election.

In a letter dated June 4, 2026, and addressed to the APC State Chairman in Kogi State through the party leadership in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area and Aiyeromi Ward, Ogunmola announced his voluntary decision to step down from the race.

However in a statement issued on Sunday, Adesina-Soje praised the governor for demonstrating exemplary leadership by listening to superior arguments and embracing what he described as the path of equity and justice.

According to him, the resolution of the matter has reaffirmed the importance of constructive engagement, peaceful advocacy, and responsive leadership in addressing sensitive communal issues.

He noted that Governor Ododo’s actions have strengthened public confidence in governance and reinforced the principles of inclusion, fairness, and peaceful coexistence necessary for sustainable development.

The APC stakeholder also paid tribute to renowned legal practitioner and elder statesman, Chief J.B. Daudu (SAN), for his unwavering commitment to justice and fairness, describing his role and counsel as instrumental in advancing the interests of the people.

Adesina-Soje further commended the leadership of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), led by Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata, for demonstrating courage, maturity, and selflessness throughout the period of engagement.

He equally applauded the sons and daughters of Ogori and Magongo who supported the cause through peaceful advocacy, dialogue, and constructive engagement, stressing that meaningful progress is best achieved through unity rather than confrontation.

The stakeholder said the development serves as a reminder that communities record lasting victories when they choose reason over rancour and dialogue over discord.

He urged all residents and stakeholders in Ogori-Magongo to embrace reconciliation and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in the interest of peace, development, and prosperity.

Adesina-Soje maintained that the ultimate victory belongs not to any individual or group, but to the people of Ogori-Magongo and the enduring values of justice, equity, fairness, and unity.
