The Nigeria’s Minister of Communication, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM, on Saturday led Nigeria delegation to the 39th Edition of Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), Conference taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Minister is lead driver responsible for coming up with policies, programmes and projects that will accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sector, Africa’s largest ICT market.
It is indicated that this is a move to consolidate the recent achievement recorded in the Country’s ICT Sector, in which contribution of ICT to GDP with 13% has leapfrogged Oil and Gas, a commodity that placed Nigeria on the radar of the world over the years.
Members of the Nigeria delegation, described the Minister as a charismatic and a Prime Mover of the Next Level Agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration through the ICT.
He led the Nigerian team to the global event to network with IT Professionals, Foster the growth of ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship and attract Foreign Direct Investments.

The 39th GITEX Technology Week, the biggest technology show in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia is themed “ Synergising the Mind and Technology Economy”.
The Nigerian delegation is made up of; His Excellency, Amb Mohammed Dansanta Rimi, Nigerian Ambassador to United Arab Emirates, Mrs Maimuna Abubakar, Chairman Governing Board, Nigerian Postal Service, Kashifu Inuwa, Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Others are, Jelani Aliyu, Director General, Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Arch Yusuf Kazuare, Managing Director, Galaxy Backbone, Chairman and Vice Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, among others, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Member Governing Board of NITDA representing North Central Zone, was also part of the delegation.
