In Its continuous effort to tackle unemployment through the development of vocational skills among the teaming unemployed in the Country, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has empowered 107 beneficiaries with starter packs in Kogi
Items distributed includes
gas cooker, deep freezer, pressure pots, cylinder, desktop computer, printerUPS, electrical equipment/tools for electrification, GSM repair tools.
The Kogi state coordinator of NDE Mrs Ilebaye Christiana Ochimana, representing the Direcror General H.E. Silas Agara at the event, noted that the programme serves as an enablement for its skilled participants who have shown their commitments in the course of the training, to put into practice the knowledge acquired for self reliance, employment generation, wealth creation, poverty reduction and moreso, become employers of labour.
Also speaking, the supervisor/facilitator of the programme, Mr. Fagbohun Samson Busuyi charged beneficiaries to be enterprising, look inward, employ creativity and innovation in their respective endeavours to attract high patronage.
The representative of the People Living with Disabilities (PWD) & Training Centre Manager PWD Mr. Ibrahim Daniel Arome on his part told beneficiaries that NDE’s vision is ‘Jobs for All’, urging them to support the Directorate’s drive to accomplish its mission by making judicious use of the items for maximum productivity.
The Head of Store Unit in the State, Mr. Omonile Joseph on his part in a welcome address called on beneficiaries to embrace the golden opportunity being offered them by the Federal Government to earn a living and also boost the Nation’s economy.
He urged them to consider it as a means to an end. According to him, Dangote started from somewhere and with determination today he is a reference point and a captain of industries.
Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries Mr. Jamiu Tijani appreciated the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the uncommon intervention targeted at the downtrodden in the country.
