Napoli, the Serie A champions, have declared that they would sue an Italian toy store over a doll.
The illegal doll, according to the Partenopei, bears an uncanny likeness to Victor Osimhen.
Because of the doll’s likeness to Osimhen, it quickly went viral on social media.
The doll has a protective mask with the number 9, a light blue jersey, and a blond tuft of curly hair.
On Thursday evening, Napoli issued a statement clarifying that the doll was not allowed by the club or Osimhen and so violated his image rights.
They want to sue the corporation, but it is yet another sensitive situation involving Osimhen that Napoli would have preferred to avoid at this moment when his contract extension is in doubt and his relationship with the club remains strained due to their TikTok videos.
