It is no more news that the former Pension Boss, Abdulrasheed Maina has been extradited back to Nigeria, after he ran to Niger Republic in order to flee court’s judgement in the N20billion fraud case he is being investigated for.
However, according to a news that was posted by the Sahara Reporters this morning, it was made known that the former pension boss fled Nigeria by hiring a motorcyclist and rode on it from Sokoto State to Niger Republic.
Maina took this decision in order not to make security operatives suspect that he was fleeing the country and that, he earlier attempted fleeing through Katsina State to Mariachi to Niger, but he thought that security operatives will easily recognize him there and due to that, he fled through the border town of Illella in Sokoto and landed in Konl in Niger Republic.
It was also revealed that Maina bought a Thuraya Handset that uses satellite to hide location and was using it to communicate to his people before he was arrested in United States of America Embassy in Niamey, where he claimed to be a citizen of America.
He was however apprehended by Interpol in Niamey on behalf of Interpol in Nigeria based on the bench warrant given against him in the court of law.
