The bank robbery that occured in Isanlu, Kogi state on Thursday, where many lives were lost, including that of some Police officers, the Inspector-General of Police, M.A Adamu, has ordered for intense manhunt for the perpetrators.
About twenty five armed robbers on Thursday afternoon invaded police station and banks in Isanlu Kogi state killing about eight Police officers and civilians during the attacked.
The armed robbers numbering about 25 invaded the Isanlu town simultaneously attacked the First Bank Branch and the Police Station with AK47 rifles and dynamites to gain access to the facilities.
However, M.A. Adamu, has deployed Intelligence Response Team (IRT), the Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Federal-SARS, to fish out the notorious criminals.
The IGP while condemning the incident via the Nigeria Police Force Twitter page , said he deployed a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response unit to Kogi State to ensure that the notorious criminals are caught and brought to book in no time.
Adamu added that, the AIG of Police in charge of the Zone-8 Police Headquarters in Lokoja, AIG Yunana Babas, is to personally oversee the investigations into the attack.
Yuana Baba’s, is also expected to coordinate intelligence that will lead to unearthing the whereabouts of the gunmen and the circumstances surrounding the sad incident.
Moreover, the IGP condoles the families of the Police officers and other persons who lost their lives in the course of duty, as he called on the Isanlu Community and the entire people of Kogi State to remain calm and to avail the Police with credible information that will help in the speedy arrest of the criminal elements.
