THE Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, says the appiontment of Senior Special Assistant Security to head council the twenty one Local Government Areas is an aberration, strange and unconstitutional.
The party in a statement issued on Friday signed by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation, says the party views this appointment as another attempt to unleash terror on the electorate during the forthcoming local government election.
The party explained that having run the council for four years with illegally constituted Administrators, only to now reappointment same people as SSAs is fraudulent and mischievous.
The statement reads, ” We are resolute in defending the rights of our party members legally from further embarrassment during election in Kogi State.
In the eyes of the people, nationally and internationally, the last Kogi election has been adjourdged as the most violent in the history of democracy in Nigeria.
We therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to be proactive by investigating the motives behind this appointment as it is intended to continue to impoverish the people, continue with the endemic corruption that has characterized the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
Recalled that Governor Yahaya Bello on Thursday appointment of 35 Senior Special Assistants to serve in his government.
