The Kogi State Chairman of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Hon. Kingsley Oga and other members of the party across the three Senatorial districts have dumped the Governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Leke Abejide for All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman.
Addressing members of the party during decamping on Friday, he said he is still the state chairman of the ADC, but they have decided to abandoned ADC candidate and work for APC candidate.
According to him, among all the governorship candidates for the November 11 governoship election, the candidate of the APC, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is th best person to elect as the next governor of the state.
According to him, before now, he set up a five man committee to asses all the candidates contesting and at the end, the committees report said Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is the right candidate to vote for in the coming election.
He said the effort of the governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello toward development of the state need somebody that will continue from where he will stop and that is why they have all decided to support Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman in the coming election.
The ADC Chairman commended governor Bello for his tremendous achievements across the state in the last seven and half years of his administration.
He also pointed out that from what they have seen and hard about the APC governorship candidate, Ododo will definitely perform well when he becomes the next governor of the state.
Also speaking, Hon. Idowu Ibikunlen representing Yagba West state Constituency at the Kogi State House Assembly said he contested as ADC candidate and he won his election.
He further stated that despite of the fact that he is a member of ADC, he and his supporters have all decided to vote for the candidate of APC in the coming Governorship election.
He said the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a performing governor and because of that he will support his candidate for the election so that the incoming governor Ododo can continue from where the governor stop come 2024.
All the three Senatorial chairmen of the party ADC also spoke saying they will mobilise there people in ADC to vote for APC in the coming election.
