Ahead of the governorship primary election in Kogi State, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has promised to mobilize delegates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) across the state for Governor Yahaya Bello.

According to him starting from the entire members of the 7th Assembly who are all members of the party to Local Government and ward executives who are also delegates to vote in the forthcoming governorship primary election scheduled to be held on the 29th August, 2019 to cast their votes in favour of Governor Yahaya Bello to secure the party’s ticket to fly the flag of the APC come November 16 governorship election.

The Speaker gave this hint to Journalists shortly after the Kogi State APC strategic meeting held yesterday in Glass House, Government House Lokoja.

He noted that there is no better or alternative candidate to fly the flag of the party than Governor Yahaya Bello, stressing that it will be ungrateful for them to abandon a man who elevated the party from a minority party to a majority party that is darling to all and sundry now.

He said it is imperative to give Alhaji Yahaya Bello the second opportunity for him to consolidate on the gains of his administration in the last three and a half years.

According to him, the Governor is a man of strong will with the capacity to develop the state hence there is no need to change a winning horse who have through his new direction policies and programmes united the people of the state irrespective of their ethnic, religious or class differences.

He promised to work with his colleagues to mobilize delegates across their various constituencies in the state to vote Governor Yahaya Bello as the candidate of the party.

He said the outstanding performances of the party in the last general elections under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello is enough evidence that the party primary for him would be a walk over, stressing that the November 16 will be a victory for APC once again.

He used the opportunity to call on all delegates of the party to rally round the Governor to secure the ticket of the party because Alhaji Yahaya Bello remain the best option for the party and state.
