The Kogi Elite Movement for Bello/Onoja Governorship election on Thursday staged a rally across Lokoja the state capital in supports of governor Yahaya Bello reelection bid.
Speaking with newsmen after the rally, Chairperson of the group, Arch. Safiat Umar said the group decided to throw their weight behind the governor because his performance in his first term makes him deserves a second term.
“We are giving our massive supports to the governor reelection bid because accessing his first term achievements, he has done well; and there is need for continuity.”
The chairperson said the presence of youths in his cabinet has help change the narrative of the state politics, and help his performance.
She also said the governor earned their support because of his inclusive style of governance, “Governor Bello believe in youths, he has empowered the youths. He has performed well and we believe he will do better.”
Co chairperson of the group, Mr. Raji Adeiza said the group believe in power rotation and so will work for the governor to complete his second term, “We support power rotation. We want the governor to complete his second term. We don’t want power to be retained in one zone again.
“We will do everything to bring back Bello for second term. If their was any area yet for him to touch, he will do the correction in second term.”
