The Umomi Progressive Development Association has hailed Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as a dedicated advocate for grassroots development.

The commendation came during the commissioning of a newly constructed laboratory and clinic in Umomi, Ofu Local Government Area by Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA).

The projects were funded by the Kogi State government through the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA).

Speaking at the event, the National President of the Umomi Progressive Development Association, Mr. Atogbe Tijani, expressed deep appreciation for Governor Ododo’s commitment to community-driven projects.

He acknowledged the governor’s administration for prioritizing the welfare of rural dwellers and ensuring development across the state.

Mr. Tijani also extended gratitude to the General Manager of KGCSDA, Chief Momoh Dauda, for his dedication and hard work, which he said were evident in the high quality of the completed projects.

He noted that the new facilities would significantly improve healthcare delivery and educational support in the community.

However, the community did not stop at expressing gratitude; they also appealed for further government intervention in the renovation of classrooms and the provision of clean water for both the school and the newly established clinic.

Representing the governor at the commissioning, the Special Adviser on Public Relations, Mr. Muhammad Onogu, reaffirmed Governor Ododo’s commitment to sustainable community development.

He emphasized that the projects would serve as a lasting testament to the administration’s impact in Umomi and urged the residents to safeguard the facilities for longevity and maximum benefit.

Mr. Onogu further called on the community to remain steadfast in their support for the administration, assuring them that continuous engagement with the government would attract more developmental initiatives.

In his remarks, Chief Momoh Dauda reiterated the governor’s unwavering dedication to creating a conducive learning and healthcare environment for rural communities. He encouraged students to take their studies seriously, as their future depended on the quality of education they received.

On the community’s request for classroom renovations and water supply, Chief Dauda assured them that their concerns would be assessed and addressed in due course.

The laboratory and clinic projects were executed under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (N-CARES) Programme, marking Governor Ododo’s first year in office with tangible grassroots achievements.

The event concluded with appreciation from residents, who expressed optimism about the continued partnership between the state government and local communities.
