The Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo has charged staffers of the ministry to be efficient and effective in the discharge of their duties said, the state government will not tolerate failure on their part.
Mr. Fanwo who made this known on Thursday in Lokoja will addressing the staff of the ministry at the state Secretariat shortly after resuming office promised to run an open door policy.
Fanwo said the governor has restored the ministry’s statue from directorate level to a full fledge ministry because of his believe of keeping the people of the state informed about his policy and agenda, reiterated that the information ministry is key to the success story of Governor Yahaya Bello’s agenda.
“The information ministry will act as the hub centres for other ministries. The state government placed so much trust in our ability to drive his second term agenda.
“We have no option than to succeed. I will not take any failure; because our success will in a long way determined the success of his excellency second term in office.”
Fanwo however stressed that the state governor has promised to do everything it takes to make the information function optimally.
“The governor knows that we must do our duties with the best global practices, and in so doing has promised to give to the sector all that it required to function at the best level.
“The agenda of the governor will be run on what we designed as ‘Kogi State Open Policy Agenda” where information about all the sectors will be placed on portal managed from this ministry and accessible by all Kogites to view and made demands.
“In doing this, staff of the ministry will be taking through rigorous training and retraining on how to be ICT compliance. We are moving away from the era of paper work towards era of zero- paper work hinged on technology.
“Certainly, their will be change. The change will not be at once but will be gradually and systematically.”
The new Info commissioner also announced an annual awards and rewards for outstanding staffers of the ministry.
