The Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists has congratulated the member representing Yagba Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide on his emergence as winner of Nigeria online media award for Kogi State.
A letter to Honourable Abejide jointly signed by the Chairman of Kogi NUJ, Adeiza Momohjimoh and secretary, Ademu Seidu described the award as well deserved.
“We write, on behalf of all working Journalists in Kogi State to heartily congratulate you on your emergence as the winner of Nigeria online media award in the House of Representatives Category for Kogi State.”
“The award did not come to us as a surprise given your antecedent as a humane, generous and kind hearted personality working tirelessly to make life better for the people of your constituency and beyond.”
The union said the lawmaker’s intervention in education in his federal constituency by paying the WAEC and NECO examinations fees of all eligible candidates not minding their background is one of your humanitarian services that only be rewarded by God alone.
They described the mega empowerment programme embarked upon by Honourable Abejide recently as second to none in the history of Legislative Representation in Kogi State, stressing that the items given to the beneficiaries are capable of transforming their lives if well utilized.
The union expressed appreciation to him for his intervention aimed at giving facelift to facilities at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Lokoja.
It noted that the lawmaker’s donation of cash, units of split air conditioner and the promise to donate a
20 KVA generator to improve power supply at the press Centre will ever remain indelible in the minds of all Journalists in Kogi State.
According to the Union, Honourable Abejide has raised the bar of quality representation and as well set a record that will take time to be equalled by anybody.
