Omala Local Government Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State on Security, Hon. Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has expressed determination to continue to sustain security of lives and properties of citizens in the area.
He gave the assurance in Abejukolo, Omala Local Government Secretariat during a peace and security meeting convened earlier in the week in his office.
The SSA maintained that, “as part of measures to make the task of security easy is to tackle the encumbrances which include, abuse of drugs and other harmful substances by youths, cultism and other social vices, rumors mongering, etc”.
While thanking him for another opportunity to serve, Alhaji Aboh assured the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of his readiness to deliver on his mandate of securing lives and properties, stressing that the confidence repose on him will be upheld.
Heads of all security agents across the local government ranging from the DPO, the Nigeria Military, DSS boss, NSCDC boos, Vigilantes including the Area Commander in charge of Ankpa, Omala Olamaboro, ACP Toluse Emmanuel were present in the all important meeting.
In his remarks, the Area Commander assured the SSA of his corporation to work with him and other security agents to root our all criminal elements in the area.
He commended Hon. Aboh for his security feats when he held sway as an administrator, while he appealed to all privy to genuine information to voluntarily make such available to the security agents to give room for proper planning and strategy.
In their separate remarks, the DLG of the local government, Elder Joseph Omale and former Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Akoh Adaidu congratulated the SSA on his new appointment, saying that he was reappointed based on his competence, experience and dexterity, and expressed hope that he will do more in his new assignment considering his past achievements.
The DPO of Omala Local Government, ASP John I. Ogbebo corroborated the stance of all heads of security, saying that the appointment of Alhaji Aboh is putting square peg in a square hole. He thanked Hon. Aboh for always honouring their requests anytime they come forth with them.
He particularly commended him for the ongoing perimeter fencing of the police headquarters in Abejukolo which he said is over 85% completed.
He prayed GOD to sustain him with the means to do more.
High point of the event was presentation of two books authored by the Area Commander to the SSA, titled: “Essentials of Security Management and Sustainable Development” and Introduction to the Study of Peace, Security and Conflict Management”.
