A political Movement which worked for the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello in the November 16, 2019 Governorship election in kogi state, The GYB Frontiers, has congratulated the Governor over his landslide victory at the apex court on Monday.
In a statement signed by the chairman and Secretary of the group, Alhaji Hans Muhammed and Comrade Onusi Abdullateef respectively, noted that the supreme Court verdict is an affirmation of the wishes of the Kogi people willingly given to the governor in November 2019.
They maintained that the overwhelming support enjoyed by the Governor attested to his performance in his first term, assuring that the governor will continue to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
The group noted that the performance of the Governor Bello’s administration in his first tenure, in the areas of security of lives and property, massive investment in Agriculture, qualitative healthcare delivery, provision of quality education, youth and women empowerment, amongst others are the things that endeared him to the hearts of the electorates in Kogi state.
“We are not surprised that the people gave him the needed support in November 2019. Governor Bello’s administration did well in the areas of security of lives and property, education, healthcare delivery, massive investment in Agriculture, employment generation, youth and women empowerment. That was the basis of the overwhelming support he enjoys from the people.
Speaking futher, the group noted that the government Alhaji Yahaya Bello was able to unite the various ethnic groups in the state through his appointments and even distribution of development projects across the three Senatorial districts of the state.
“The people of the state were divided along ethic lines. There was serious division among the people. But the governor in his wisdom was able to unite the people, by evenly distributing development projects and through his political appointments. Every tribe is involved in the affairs of the state.
The group added that the establishment of the Confluence university of Science and Technology and the Reference Hospital in Okene, in his second tenure is a confirmation of the determination of the Governor to take the state to it’s zenith in terms of development.
They called on the people of the state particularly, the opposition parties to support the governor in his quest for an accelerated development of Kogi state.
They assured that the GYB Frontiers would continue to support the governor in whatever capacity, as he tried to place Kogi state in it’s rightful place among committee of States in Nigeria.
