
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajia Inikpi Sule, popularly known as Ododo Mama, describing her passing as a painful loss to his administration and the state.
Governor Ododo made the remarks on Saturday during the burial ceremony of the late Senior Special Assistant on Community Mobilization at her family residence in Obeya Kekele, Anyigba.
Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor said the deceased remained committed to the success of his administration and diligently discharged her responsibilities until her death.
He noted that Hajia Sule died while actively serving the state and deserved the honour accorded to her by the government. The Governor extended his condolences to the people of Obeya Kekele, the Anyigba community, and the entire Dekina Local Government Area over the loss.
In his remarks, Hon. John Urah thanked the state government for supporting the deceased during her illness and for standing by her family during the burial rites. He described her death as a significant loss to Dekina Local Government Area.
Also speaking, the Ogohi Onuh Anyigba, Alhaji Shaibu Okolo, described the late Hajia Sule as a cheerful and friendly woman who maintained cordial relationships with people from all walks of life.
He commended Governor Ododo for his compassion and support, revealing that the Governor personally facilitated financial assistance for her medical treatment while she was hospitalized.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Idenyi Abuh, younger brother of the deceased, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his unwavering support to their sister during her lifetime, throughout her illness, and after her passing. He said the family had accepted her death as the will of God.
Hajia Inikpi Sule passed away on Friday after a brief illness. Until her death, she served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Mobilization. She was laid to rest at her residence in Olubojo, Anyigba, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The burial ceremony attracted several government officials and political leaders, including the Auditor-General of Kogi State, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala; the member representing Okura State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Hassan Sado; the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Baby Okwute; APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Ogwu Abdul Alhasan; Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah; the Ogohi Onuh Anyigba, Alhaji Shaibu Okolo; former Dekina Local Government Chairman and Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Ishaq Okolo; and the Director-General of the Kogi State Solid Minerals Development Company, Dr. Johnson Musa, among others.
