The former Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Arc Abdulmumeen Okara has taken responsibility for the termination of his appointment by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Okara in a reaction to his dismissal contained in a statement, said the such high disciplinary action on him is an indication that he had offended the state in no small measure after what he described as three years of meritorious service.
His words: “I have always reviewed my performances, since inception of the GYB Administration and has always commended him for giving me the opportunity to excel.
Highest of such excellent representation was at the United Nations General Assembly UNGA 2017, where I packaged and presented a paper on the governor’s behalf on a topic “Localizing the SDGs through partnerships and innovative resource mobilisation” in New York USA. It was to an oberwhelming appreciation of the global community that gathered at the ECOSOC chambers of the UN General Assembly. I shed tears of joy after the presentation that day, which I considered unprecedented and a great plus for my Country, my State and my Governor.
“Back home, I have successfully generated high value in repositioning Kogi state SDGs, where I have supervised the award and successful completion of over 248 projects in the Health sector, some of which are just awaiting his excellencies commissioning accross the 21 Local government Areas of Kogi State. These efforts has enabled Kogi State SDGs to receive commendation from the office of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on SDGs. OSSAP SDGs.”
To his supporters, Okara called for calm, and reiterated his support towards the reelection of the Governor.
“I am now more than ever before, prepared to put greater efforts in our on-going struggle to secure the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello come November 2019. I will pit any available resources at my disposal to see that his re-election is a must. I remain with my slogan that ‘There is no vacancy in Lugard house for now. GYB is still the answer,'” he said.
