The immediate past Governor of Kogi Statetate, Captain Idris Wada has accused the present Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of running a government of deception.
Captain Wada was speaking Friday at the sideline of the State Congress of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP held at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
He said that the last three and half years of the present government in the state have unleashed untold hardship on the people through hunger and starvation occasioned by non payment of workers salaries.
“This government lie about everything, they claim to be embarking on various non existence projects, which cannot be found anywhere”
This he said is responsible for his bid to steak out his neck one more time to correct some of the mistakes he made in his first term
Wada who lost the last election to the Late political icon, Prince Abukar Audu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, later inherited by the incumbent, Alhaji Yahaya Bello said that the present government had bastardised governance in the state.
“They have no clue and idea on how to move the state toward and enhanced the standard of living of the people, they don’t know how to improve revenue coming in to the state, hence their inability to pay salaries, but for me I have been there,I know how to urgument whatever is coming in from the Federation Account to pay salaries and even embarked on projects”.
According to him,”most of the projects he started and completed such as the Kogi hotel,Mega Park and others were meant to generate revenue but the present government abandoned them because they have no idea on how to put them to use”
He said that if given another chance, he will do everything possible to right all the wrongs of the present administration.
Meanwhile, the Director General Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Kingsly Fanwo said it was laughable that the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris Wada whose administration was marred by insecurity, underdevelopment and impoverishment could accuse the administration of Yahaya Bello Of poor governance.
According to him, Wada was only trying to conjure political relevance among his kith and kin today after he was ousted in order to reclaim Kogi State from the Boko Haram and other forms of insurgencies the state witnessed during his reign.
His words, “it is on record that he was voted out owing to the fact that his administration could not initiate any project in four years while insecurity overran the entire geography of the state while he was governor.
“We don’t have many replies to Wada’s claim but he should be made to know that, the Ankpa township road he flagged off on the 15 July 2014 and could not return a wheelbarrow-load Of sand until his exit from the Lugard House has been constructed by Yahaya Bello’s administration.
“Let him also know that after his exit, Kogi State has built the largest Rice Mill industry to be commissioned on the 28 Of August which will drastically reduce unemployment in the state.
“Wada should be reminded that Governor Yahaya Bello has extended development to his country home; Dekina and Anyigba by embarking on the Township roads projects which he (Wada) flagged off during his administration and could not mobile contractors to sites.
“He should be reminded that Umomi-Ugwolawo-Ajana-Idah road and Ibana-Okpo-Ikeje-Ogug-Ette roads that were begging for government attention while he was governor are today wearing a new look.
“What response did a man who was governor when Boko Haram established weapon training centre in Okene, when Koto Karfe prison was invaded by terrorists, DSS office in Lokoja attacked by bandits and under whose leadership kidnapping gained prominent in Nigeria than to ask him to reflect on his time in office and compare to what we have today?
