Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mathew Olusola Kolawole, has distributed cash gifts and clothing materials to more than 300 constituents across Kabba/Bunu-Ijumu Federal Constituency.

The empowerment programme, held as part of the Easter celebration, attracted party faithful, community leaders and stakeholders from across the constituency.

Addressing beneficiaries at the event, Kolawole said the gesture was borne out of his desire to serve humanity and appreciate God for His blessings, insisting that he was not motivated by political ambition or personal gain.

According to him, giving back to the people remains a duty and a way of showing gratitude to God.

“I am not doing this for any personal or political reward. I am doing it for God and to give back from what He has been doing for me. Service to humanity is service to God,” he said.

The former Speaker also reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress, declaring that the party remains his only political platform.

He pledged his continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing both leaders as his preferred candidates and political leaders.

Kolawole commended his supporters for standing by him over the years and urged them to remain loyal, united and committed to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress.

He said unity and consistency within the party were essential for sustained political progress and development.

Several beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

One of the beneficiaries from Ijumu said Kolawole had remained supportive of the people for more than a decade.

“He has always been there for the people. This is not the first time. For more than ten years, he has continued to support us in different ways. May God bless and reward him abundantly,” the beneficiary said.

Another beneficiary from Kabba/Bunu praised the former Speaker’s commitment to the welfare of the people, saying his actions had continued to touch many lives across the constituency.

The event was attended by party stakeholders, present and former executives of the APC, as well as community leaders, who described the outreach as a demonstration of compassion, faith and responsible leadership.
