A former Governorship aspirant and Chieftain of the ruling All Progresaives Congress, Dr. Erico Joseph Ameh has express shock and deep sadness over the tragic boat mishap that occurred in Ebbe, Kupa, Kogi state, resulting in the loss of lives
Dr. Erico Joseph Ameh, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the affected communities and the government and people of Kogi state, described the incident as a huge and devastating loss and appealed to the authority to investigate the cause of the mishap.
“I received the tragic news with heavy shock and saddened with the incident. Let me use this opportunity to call on the relevant authority for a strict safety measures going forward in our marine operations across the nation to prevent future occurrence of such tragedies. We must prioritize the safety of our passengers on our waterways across the country.
Dr. Erico Joseph Ameh commended the swift response of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing immediate relief materials to affected victims and providing adequate and timely medical attention for the survivors. He also praised the timely response of the Kogi state government which he noted reduced the numbers of the casualties
Dr. Erico Joseph Ameh pray for the speedy recovery of those injured and pray God to give the family of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident, the government and people of Kogi state the fortitude to bear the loss.
