The family of Kogi State Legal Luminary, Chief Ogwu James Onoja on Saturday narrowly escaped attack by gunmen.
Mrs Rosemary Onoja, a chartered accountant, escaped death by whiskers at Bassa, along SHINTAKU -Lokoja-road, after the vehicle conveying her and her police escort was shot at severally by suspected gunmen.
Chief Onoja had in a petition alleged threat to his life making him to write a petition to the Inspector General of Police on the 8th of April, to address his security situation while visiting the state.
Onoja’s wife’s Police detail was hurt and wounded by the gunshots. The matter has however been reported at Ayingba Police Station.
James Onoja, a legal practitioner, has been involved in a series of communal and philanthropic activities to better the welfare of his people and immediate community.
In a chat with the legal icon, he expressed shock at the attack on his family, saying the matter is before the state command of the Nigerian Police.
