A philanthropist, Ambassador John Osaigie, on Friday said the people of Edi State should execute him if he fails to perform as a governor if elected.
Osagie, stated this in Benin city while speaking with journalists on his intention to contest as a governor in the state
He said, his intention to contest the governorship election 2020 in the state is born out of the present situation of the people, where , hunger insecurity and total hardship have become the order of the day .
Osagie, who is an America based philanthropist said, he is painfully worried that the current suffering in the State has become so alarming that most people can no longer feed three times a day or guarantee their safety.
According to him,”poor health facilities, hunger, insecurity, lack of infrastructure and quality education in the state is becoming so worrisome to every right thinking person in the state.
” I want to contest the election because there is hunger in the state, many people are hungry,no electricity,bad roads, failed education system.There is a failed leadership in the state.You can imagine where people like Osamudeme(one of the beneficiary of his scholarship scheme) is in the street for four years.
“If as a person, I have been able to put in place a workable education system, where about 150 pupils are now in school, why will I not do more as a governor of the state”? He quarried.
He also stated that if, he becomes the governor,his security votes will be used to provide quality education, electricity, build more infrastructure, etc.
” i feel badly worried that the youths in the state have remained un employed despite the fact that almost ninety percent of them are well educated, how can we grow like that, we must change the situation.” He stated.
