The body of the late former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Patrick Ozovehe Adaba who died few weeks ago was buried on Friday at his country home Okene amidst encomium and praises from friends, relations and mourners in the state.
The burial mass was held at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Okene, Kogi state before his final interment.
Rev. Father Jude Ododo who delivered sermon taken from the book of John 14 verse 1 to 6 described death as inevitable that every mortal must taste, noting that what make death mischievous was that no body knows where our love ones that had died went to.
The clergy, urged Christians to always bear in mind that earth is never a permanent home for any human being , advising those who are in the habit of doing bad things to have change of mind just as he charged those doing good things to redoubled their effort in doing more.
“This world is not our permanent home, one day we will be called upon to give vivid account of our deeds on this earth.
“We must remember that after death comes judgement, therefore we should use our strength and wealth to promote unity and peace in our various communities.
“It is also very important for us to bear in mind at all time that whatever we do while on this earth lived after us even after death. We should make concerted effort to live a life of good legacy that will speak well of us after our departure from this world”.
Rev. Father Ododo while eulogizing the late Patrick Ozovehe Adaba, described him as a unifier, a leader and a politician who had lived his life for the service of humanity.
“While alive the late Adaba does not discriminate and he always have time for people no matter the age. He does not deceive people and he render assistance to people wholeheartedly irrespective of tribe , religion or background.
“I am appealing to his family members especially his children to carry on the legacy of their father” he said.
The Rev. Father who also called on leaders and public office holders to shun corruption and other vices that are inimical to the well being and development of the people.
In his remark, Chief Barnabas Adeku Ojiah, the Eyize of Ebiraland described the late Adaba as one of the finest leader in Ebiraland who lived his life for other people in his community.
He charged his charged his family members to emulate the good deeds of their father.
In his vote of thanks, Patrick Adaba junior who spoke on behalf of the family, said that his late father was committed to people and the church promising that they would continue the legacy of their father especially his service to humanity.
