An Estate Developer, Mr. Peter Suleiman has said that cost of house rent in Lokoja the state capital of Kogi State is alarming asking the incoming governor to intervene.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday he said Kogi State which is a civil service state should not be facing problem stressing that Abuja the federal capital, cost of house rent is affordable compired to Lokoja.
According to him, to rent two bed room apartment especially in the town cost between N200,000 to 250,000 naira per annum while four bed room flat bongalo cost between N300,000 to N350,000 per annum.
He said that duplex apartment cost between N400,000 to N500,000 per annum.
The Estate Developer opined that with the cost of renting houses in the state capital Lokoja, most civil servants find it difficult to bring their family to Lokoja as they prefer to locate them in their respect communities.
He noted that is ready to partner with the coming government in the state in respective of the party so that civil servants both at the state level and local government area can afford houses at a cheaper rate.
Mr. Peter who is the the Chief Excecutive Director of Good trust properties limited, said they are into delivery of affordable housing units to clients Imo, Niger, and Rivers States stressing that they are ready to deliver between 500 to 1000 housing Units to civil servants in Kogi state through partnership with the incoming Governor of Kogi state by next year 2024 .
