THE abducted acting Eje of Ankpa in Kogi state, Alhaji Shaibu Usman is yet to be released by the kidnappers according to kogi state police command.
The acting first class monarch was abducted on Friday morning at the mosque at about 5.30 am when about to observed morning prayer.
The kogi state Police command public relations officer, Mr. William Aya while speaking our reporter on Saturday said the monarch is yet to be released.
He mentioned that the command is doing everything possible to get him release from the hand of kidnappers.
He also said they are not aware if they kidnappers make any contact with the family of the monarch.
However a community leader in Ankpa name with held who spoke on Saturday said they have not received any phone call or contact with those that kidnapped the acting royal father.
He mentioned that they are still waiting to here from them, stressing that the people of the community are divastated with the kidnapping of the the royal father.
“We have resulted to prayer and we we are also looking onto the kogi State government to safe our monarch from the den of the kidnappers.
“We are aware that the state government is doing everything possible to secure his release with the effort of the security men in the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Kogi state government has assured the people of Ankpa community that the monarch will soon gain freedom.
The Kogi state commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo in a chart with our reporter on Saturday said “We will ensure he is secured safely.The State Government is working with security agencies to ensure his release.
“The Kogi State Government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.
“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as Government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to security of lives and property.
