Foremost agricultural experts and reknown community developer, Dr. Tunde Arosanyin has been honoured by the Okun Youths Development Association, (OYDA).
Dr. Arosanyin bagged the OKUN PATROTIC LEADERSHIP AWARD of the OYDA.
The award was bestowed on him on Wednesday by the organization at the 2nd Public Lecture/Award presentation held in Ogidi, Ijumu council area of Kogi West Senatorial district.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the organization, Comrade Funke Ajayi said it was in recognition of Arosanyin’s innovative leadership style which has translated into the successes recorded in his private practises.
Comrade Ajayi noted that the honour was on the back of Arosanyin’s sterling performance in the agricultural sectors.
The organization noted that the awardee has done well in term of community development.
Receiving the award Dr. Arosanyin, commended the organization for their fair and objective recognitions of the awardees.
He said any nation who seeks a better future has to look inward and must placed premium on agriculture, stressing that agriculture is a strong tool to tackle unemployment, hunger and insecurity.
Arosanyin said the award will prompt him to do more.
Speaking further on the theme of the Lecture: “Insecurity: Threats to lives and Agricultural Sustainability in Okunland”, Ajayi said the theme is imperative and apt, “It is obvious that the menace of insecurity in Okunland has constituted threats to agricultural revival and loss of lives and properties, mainly in the remote parts of the axis.
“Today’s event is organized to address the causes and solutions, as applicable to sustainable development of Okunland.”
The OYDA was formed in 2010.
