The Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State , Hon. Justice Richard Olorunju Olorunfemi has warned Adumu community in Ofu local government of Kogi state not to corrupt judges.
Justice Olorunfemi who stated this on Monday during the official inauguration of Area Court established for Adamu community by the Acting Chief Judge said they should support staff of the newly established Area Court in the community to enable them dispense unpolluted justice to the people.
The Chief Judge who warned the people of community vehemently against inducing the Area Court Judge and other officers, described Court as synonymous to development and ultimately brought justice closer to the people.
“Court is synonymous to development. Court is synonymous to the presence of government and as far as we are concern Court also brought justice closer to the people” he stated .
He therefore called on the community to sustained the course of justice in their domain by giving their support in the area of security , maintenance and show of love to the Area Court judge and other supporting staff for effect and efficient dispensation of justice in Adumu community and its environs.
He also charged the officials of the Court to dispense justice without fair or favour and urged them to always be guide by the constitution and fear of the Almighty God.
Justice Olorunfemi who was sworn-in as the Acting Chief Judge in the month of March, 2021 commended the facilitator of the Court Hon. Justice Yunusa Musa for the love and care he had for his people, noting that within six months the jurist facilitated two courts , the Itobe Magistrate Court and Adumu Area Court all at Itobe district to his people.
Earlier, Justice Yunusa Musa in his welcome address , disclosed that the community in the last 30 years put a request for the establishment of the court , but paucity of fund delayed it, noting that the realization of the request in 2021 will no doubt bring justice to the community.
“We are grateful to the Acting Chief Judge for this rare gesture and we promised to provide security for the officials of the Area Court” he said.
The traditional ruler and the Ochabe of Adumu community Dr Yunusa Ali pledged the support of his community in ensuring that the court and the officials are safe at all time.
He thank the Acting Chief Judge and Justice Yunusa Musa for fulfilling a thirty years request of the community.
