A coalition of 48 associations under the aegis of the White Lion Family (WLF), has endorsed Hon Musa Jimoh Omiata, the member representing Yagba East LGA, for the Speakership position of the Kogi State 7th House of Assembly.
The associations made the declaration in a statement signed by Hon. Abdullahi Abdulganiyu, the National Coordinator of the White Lion Family and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
Abdulganiyu said that the Associations cut across the 239 wards across 21 local government areas of Kogi State.
According to Abdulganiyu, the endorsement came after a consensus was reached at a meeting held by the Coordinators of associations across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State.
”The coordinators have spoken very audible that the personality of Hon Jimoh Omiata has been unquestionable and we have unanimously endorsed him for the following attributes:
”That Hon Jimoh Omiata has been a member of the mother Association called ‘White Lion family’ under the auspious leadership of their National Cordinator, Hon Abdulganiyu Abdullahi.
”That the Lawmaker has contributed immensely towards the Progress of the Association ranging from contributing immensely towards the Association and otherwise.
”That he has consulted the Mother Association which is the White Lion Family and and that all the 48 associations under the white lion family, have seen every reason to queue behind his candidature.
”That Hon Jimoh Omiata after wide consultation remains the only acceptable and widely consulted candidate for the position of the speakership in the Kogi 7th Assembly.
”That Hon Jimoh Omiata has contributed to the progress of Yagba East Local Government Areas ranging from capital to human development projects.
”That Hon Jimoh Omiata is has not only contributed to where he represents but to as many that comes his way.
”That Hon Jimoh Omiata is a good listener, a very compassionate and personality, and a man that represents the voice for the voiceless.
”Omiata has moved many bills and motions which are evidents on constituent members and Kogi state in general; a man who believes in Justice, fairness and equity,” Abdulganiyu said.
He added: ”Hon Jimoh Omiata is a second timer in the state Assembly and has a vast knowledge about the rudiments and modus operandi of the house.
”He has shown himself worthy of support and a philantropist per excellence; and the Association will support him to the end.
”Omiata has a good working spirit and this will allow for a good relationship between the Legislature, Judiciary and the Executive for the progress and development of our State.
”These and many more are the reasons given by the groups to support Hon Jimoh Omiata member representing Yagba East in the Kogi state house of Assembly,” Abdulganiyu said.
The National cordinator commended all the Associations for taking the gigantic step towards the right direction and that the group will chart a way forward to meet with the His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his approval.
”We are using this opportunity to also reassured the 4th Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello (The White Lion) of our total support, and by the special grace of the Almighty Allah, he will be the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State.
”We thanked the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja (CEDO) and other stakeholders of APC for their support for our associations.
”We tender the request of the white lion family to them, and to see how this could be achieved before the Election into the Speakership position of Kogi State 7th House of Assembly,” Abdulganiyu said.
He added that their support for the re-election of GYB is very key and they would do everything possible to ensure he succeeded which is the core mandate of the agenda of their associations.
The associations include: Women of Substance, Youths for Good Governance, Advocate for the Masses, Association of Progressive Minded, Women of Progress Association, Kogi For Next Level, among others.
