The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in producing graduates who will not only be job seekers but employers of labour.

This was disclosed during a strategic meeting held today in the office of the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, when a delegation from the CAC,Kogi Zonal Office, led by Mr. Odoba Paul Ameh proposed an innovative partnership aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among students.

Mr. Odiba stated that the Commission is committed to supporting CUSTECH students in starting their own businesses, ensuring seamless registration processes, and facilitating access to loans and credit facilities.

He emphasized that the CAC would love to see students graduate with dual credentials—their academic degree and a registered business certificate.

“Entrepreneurship should be a key focus in the university’s curriculum,” Odiba stressed. “We want to see CUSTECH students not just as graduates but as job creators who will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic growth.”

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, lauded the CAC for its proactive approach to youth empowerment and economic development.

He revealed that the university is already making moves to establish an Entrepreneurship Center, aligning with its vision of producing self-sufficient graduates who will not solely depend on white-collar jobs.

“We are committed to ensuring that every CUSTECH student graduates with a legally registered business,” the VC declared. “This partnership with the CAC will go a long way in equipping our students with the necessary skills and resources to thrive as entrepreneurs.”

The meeting had in attendance,
Ms. Olufunke Hudson, University Registrar,
Mr. John Alaji, University Bursar,
Pharm. Muhammad A. Audu, Director, Academic Planning,
