The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu said the party could punish the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos and national leader of the ruling party’s All Progress Council (APC), has apologized for recent comments on the party’s national leader, President Muhammad Buhari.
Tinubu was featured in a video on Tuesday revealing how he helped the president and other APC leaders win the 2015 elections.
Mr. Tinubu, who visited Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, told the ruling party’s delegation that he would not have been president without Mr. Buhari.
He said that after losing three elections, Buhari cried and said he would never run again, but he (Tinubu) went to Katsina and asked Buhari to run again, and he and others were presidents. He said he would win because he was on his side.
The comment evoked negative reactions throughout the country, and many accused Tinubu of comparing himself to God. “We can punish him (Tinubu) for his remarks to the president,” who briefed journalists at Abuja’s APC headquarters on Saturday.
