Muli-Choice Nigeria has finally launched Gotv in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital as they target 2million subscribers.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the launching, the Executive Head of Sales, Multi-Choice Nigeria, Mr Akinola Saliu on Saturday, he said Gotv has established over 200 neighbourhood stores spread around Lokoja, to sell the product.
He said GOtv had over 100 exciting channels for the viewing enjoyment of the public.
Akinola explained that the monthly subscription of GOtv had been reduced from 9,800 to 6,900. The variety of subscriptions available, he said, included the Super subscription which goes for N6, 900, Jolly for N4,150, and Max which remained the cheapest
He, therefore, urged the general public to come in large numbers to subscribe to the new product, saying there were over 2 00 stores scattered all over the federation where decoders and associated products could be accessed.
“We equally have over 100 youths who walk the street to sell our products, these are guys who probably are not engaged before now, most of them are secondary school leavers who need to have some level of living to be able to take care of themselves and equally pay for their education as they go into tertiary institutions.”
Saliu further disclosed that Gotv has so far covered 52 cities across Nigeria, representing the six geo-political zones in the country, adding that more cities will be reached in future.
Speaking on the content, Mr Saliu, explained that the Gotv has over one hundred channels, which include, sports, movies, entertainment, children’s channels news channels and local content, with three bouquets which are, Gotv Joli, Max and Supa.
He said that GOtv is coming into the city with high quality entertainment for households and economic empowerment for residents.
“This is the home of entertainment. The quality of programming and content is second to none. Overall, GOtv is a family package. Whatever amount you have, we have a package for you. And for the launch in Lokoja, we have brought the price down from N9,500 to N6,900 so that everybody can afford GOtv.
“We have also made GOtv available all over Lokoja. We have over 200 neighborhood stores selling GOtv across the city. Apart from that, we have over 100 young ladies and gentlemen who work as conversers to sell GOtv. These are young minds who probably haven’t been employed before now. We are taking them off the streets to earn and make a living for themselves,” he said.
GOtv beamed live in Lokoja with over 100 exciting channels covering news, music, sports, documentaries, series, movies, and children’s programmes, which are carefully selected to cater for a variety of different tastes and family viewing needs at a very affordable price.
To access the rich library of content, new customers can subscribe to any of GOtv packages such as the GOtv Supa for N5, 500, GOtv Max for N4, 150, GOtv Jolli for N2, 800 or GOtv Jinja for N1, 900, monthly.
Line-up of channels on GOtv packages include Africa Magic Urban, Honey, SuperSport, WWE, SuperSport channels, KIX, StarLife, Cartoon Network, ESPN, Zee World, TeleMundo, CNN International, Al Jazeera, Discovery Family, B4U Movies, TNT Africa, MTV Base, HIP TV, Africa Magic Hausa, Africa Magic Yoruba, Africa Magic Igbo, M-Net Movies 4, ROK, Discovery ID, Nat Geo Wild, Da Vinci Kids, Disney Junior, Nickelodeon, Jim Jam and many more.
With the launch, GOtv Nigeria services is now available in 46 cities across 25 states in Nigeria, making it the digital terrestrial television (DTT) service with the widest coverage in the country.
Speaking earlier at the ceremony, the Maigari of Lokoja, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III, commended Multi-Choice, for extending their business to his domain.
