The former provost Kogi state Colleges education technical, Kabba, Chief Julius Oshadumo, has been killed in a crossfire between kidnappers and vigilantes who were on a rescue mission in a forest located at Ogori-Magongo in Kogi state.
He was abducted by unknown gunmen about two weeks ago in ECWA church Okedayo, Kabba during a Sunday service where one person was killed while three were kidnapped.
He was the pioneer Provost, College of Education (Technical) Kabba and during the attack, his wife and other worshipers were shot by the kidnappers. One person was killed.
It was gathered that the vigilantes group trailed the kidnappers to a forest around Ogori community in Kogi state and engaged the abductors in a gun duel but Oshadumo was felled by stray bullets.
His body, which was recovered by the vigilantes, had already been deposited at the Ogori General Hospital.
The wife and the other worshipers, who were shot during the Sunday service, are still recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in the state.
However all effort to confirmed ty report from the Kogi state police command public relations officer, DSP William Ayah proved abortive as he was not picking his calls when our reporter called on his phone number.
