The information reaching me now has it that the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Council, Taofiq A. Isah led a group of thugs to Ayegunle Gbede in Ayegunle/Iluhafon Ward, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State to intimidate, attack and steal ballot boxes.
I learnt that he succeeded to carted away some ballot boxes in my community, Ayegunle Gbede with the support of those fully armed thugs, police men and army just now.
A reliable sources confirmed that he went to other towns and villages in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State and carried out the same evil act just to satisfy his godfather, Yahaya Adoza Bello, Kogi State Governor and to retain his position.
Honestly speaking, this is strange in Okun politics hence we must condemn this barbaric action in totality. Okun land is known to be a peaceful place.
I want to use this opportunity to call on the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to cancel 2019 State House of Assembly election in Kogi West especially that of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State since no election in the area and order for fresh and new election.
It is the right of each and every one of us to vote and to be voted for during election like this. This fundamental human right of our people must be respected.
Lastly, our people should remain calm, be resolute and be ready to tell Taofiq A. Isah that he cannot determine our future and that he will never determine that.
